About PlaceNotes Founder, Jim Brody
PlaceNotes and the PlaceNotes Project founder are both the brainchildren of Jim Brody, a 28 year veteran of work in digital travel media and an expert in digital travel marketing, as well as DMOs and how they work to create, grow and support the entire tourism industry. Across almost 3 decades, Jim has worked with thousands of DMOs, presented, been on panels and moderated at over 100 conferences , and led workshops on digital marketing - all across the globe.
A marketing professional with infectious enthusiasm for the travel industry, Jim has supported many start-ups (including creating VisitNewEngland - one of the first travel content websites ever built), as well as media brands TripAdvisor, (where he established the DMO partnership program), Travelzoo, and Lonely Planet (as their first-ever global director of destinations).

The PlaceNotes Project is fueled by our desire to provide a platform for every destination, through their official DMO, to tell its story - no matter their annual budget, popularity, or where it is in the world. From the largest country to the smallest town or island, we believe that every destination has a voice, experiences to share, and an audience waiting to find out about it and visit.
The PlaceNotes Project uses digital media to partner with any DMO - for free - to share their story, experiences, and information with potential visitors around the world.
